Demo followed: ORNAMENTAL BIRDHOUSES BY ARTIST
Brian had an excellent Demo showing how he creates very cute Birdhouses as Christmas Ornaments. He first rounds a short peice and drills a hole in the end (center) with a flat scraper as a drill bit, then shapes the outside, drills a tiny hole for the perch and another hole a bit bigger for the "front door" and sets it aside. For the top, Brian expertly and very exactingly fashions a neat round sloping roof, with the bottom fittting to the first part already prepared. The top is glued to the bottom with CA glue and the perch added which he carefully had turned to exactly fit into the tiny hole. A small eye is added at the top to hang it and it is complete. Two different wood species makes for a pretty contrast however it is not demanded. Brian creates these very expertly and it looks exactly like it.
